We are aware that life is busy for many people. We are able to accommodate most any schedule. The Reno studio is open Tuesday – Friday from 12:30pm to 9pm and Saturdays from 10:30am to 7pm. One of the best things about scheduling at Arthur Murray is we have the flexibility that fits into your life.
The studio is located just off I-580 at the Mill Street exit, near the Grand Sierra Resort. Arthur Murray® shares the parking lot with the QUIKSTOP gas station on the corner of Mill Street and Terminal Way. Pull into the gas station as if you are going to get gas and drive right past the gas pumps. You will see our front door under a bright blue awning, the red and blue neon open sign and white lettering on the windows. Even though our address is Mill Street, our front door faces Terminal Way and the mini-mart of the QuikStop. If there is no parking in the front, along the building, proceed around the south side of the building to find a large, free, parking lot!
It totally depends on how quickly you learn, how good you’d like to become, and how many dances you’d like to learn. Just to learn a few basics only takes a handful of lessons. To be comfortable dancing to any music with any partner, that takes about 6 months to a year. After your first lesson, your instructor will be able to recommend the quickest way to get to your dancing goals.
No, you don’t need a partner to learn to dance. At Arthur Murray, you can learn to dance on your own or with someone special. Whether you are a single, couple, or have a partner that isn’t interested in learning to dance, you are welcome to join us and learn. We have a great community of dancers and a welcoming environment that includes all types and ages of people.

All of our dance experts must complete an in-depth training regimen. They are experienced on the dance floor and are knowledgeable in techniques that will help you master today’s popular dances. The Reno teachers are all certified and are all either active or retired competitive dancers. Rest assured that the instructors selected for you are the best in the business.
Pretty much everything. Partnered dancing can be done to Big Band, Latin, 80’s, Top 40, Classic Rock ‘N Roll, Bossa Nova, Motown, Disco, Country Western, etc. If there is a beat, you can learn to dance to it! Check out our What We Teach page for more info.
While our instructors dress in business attire, our students wear a variety of things: anything from jeans and a t-shirt, to work attire, to getting all dressed up for a night out of dancing. For shoes, just make sure you wear something that won’t slip off your feet while dancing. Anything from tennis shoes to Cowboy boots to dress shoes are perfect to begin learning. Ballroom dancing shoes are not required.
Absolutely! Arthur Murray® uses a unique, time-tested approach to learning that makes it fast, fun and easy to learn a variety of dances in a short amount of time.
You will be able to begin dancing after your first lesson. The length of your training depends upon how many dances you would like to learn and how proficient you would like to become in each dance.
You can learn the steps in any or all social and nightclub dances: Swing, Samba, Merengue, Rumba, Cha Cha, Mambo, Tango, Waltz, Fox Trot, Country and more. And to all the best new music too!
Tuition varies depending on a number of factors. For example, how good you want to be, what dances you want to learn, and your dance schedule. After your introductory sample lesson, your instructor will recommend a program and will be able to answer any questions, so you will have the knowledge to make an informed choice.
